Springtime Fun

May 27, 2007

Our school year is wrapping up, but we are still keeping plenty busy. Last weekend some of our friends hosted a baby “sprinkle” for us (similar to a baby shower). It was a great night filled with fun and friends. We were really blessed to realize how much support we have here, and will miss those who won’t be here with us next year.

Last weekend we also went for a hike with some friends up to Daedunsan Mountain. It was a gorgeous day, and we had a great time. Ok, we didn’t hike all the way up (we took a cable care for a good portion), but we still got some good exercise. Here are some photos:

This weekend TCIS held the annual Prom. Jaci and I were chaperon’s, and had a nice time. The students all looked so grown up in their formal apparel.  Anyway- here we are:

More Big News…

May 13, 2007

The end of April was a bit crazy, but at the same time very exciting. At Jaci’s last check-up we found out some exciting news… we’re having a BOY! We’re obviously thrilled, and it makes everything seem a bit more real. In the last few days Jaci has really started to feel him move around. Yesterday I felt him move for the first time! We’re still nervous about it all, but are confident that God will help us to be the parents we need to be.

Speaking of Jaci and the baby, we found out some great news last week. Jaci will be able to stay home next year! This is an answer to prayer because TCIS isn’t usually able to let mom’s stay at home (this is complicated to explain, but usually it’s just not an option here). We made a request to let Jaci stay home, and it has been granted. There are still some details to be worked out, but it is exciting none the less. She will still be involved with TCIS through coaching, training other teachers, and substitute teaching.

The other big event at the end of April was our Middle School Spiritual Emphasis Week (SEW). This is a time where we take a 3 day break from school to focus on God. We use the time to build realationships, learn and worship together. This year we brought out a speaker from North Carlolina. His name is Mark Canada, and he did a great job! The kids really responded well to his messages. We had a band come out as well; Station 2. The band is comprised of two guys (Travis Whittaker, David Carey), and they were amazing as well. All the guys connected well with the kids, and were awesome to have around. Our Middle School staff were troopers too and put in a lot of energy to make things happen. It was a great week, and many of our Middle School students made importatnt decisions regarding their faith in God!

We have about 4 weeks of school left, and then it is break time! It has been a great year, but we are looking forward to a little R & R (we will be stopping in Maui on the way home). We’ll be in Minnesota for about 7 weeks, and are looking forward to spending time with friends and family (YOU!). See you soon!
